The Glass Ceiling

A client with a particularly high turnover of female employees discovered, through an Exit Interview initiative, that there was a pervasive feeling that opportunities were gender-limited. They initiated workshops targeted at senior leaders and added items to their employee survey to measure the effectiveness of their efforts to change the culture, and in particular to reduce perception differences between men and women.

Over the next three years they were able to reduce turnover among female employees from 40 percent to 16 percent, and now turnover is not meaningfully different between men and women.
